When purchasing a beat you can’t buy the copyright of the beat itself. Instead you will buy a license which gives you permission to use the beat you purchased for recording your song, sending it to mixing/mastering after, uploading and distributing it to social media and streaming services when finished, performing it live, making profit with your song and so on. What’s included in a license can be found in the license details of each license package I offer.
With a license you’re not allowed to upload the beat as it is – that means without recording e.g. your vocals on top – to platforms like YouTube, Spotify, etc. unless you’re a content creator and use the beat as background music for your video or podcast.
Track stems (sometimes also called trackouts) are a collection of several single tracks grouped together. So, the track stems you get in my unlimited and exclusive license are summarized tracks from the respective beat – e.g. a kick stem, a clap stem, a 808 stem, a bell stem, etc.
On some of my older beats tracks like kicks, snares, hi hats, etc. are grouped and mixed together as one drum stem.
The differences between the licenses I offer can be found by clicking the license details button in the upper section “LICENSING” of this website. Otherwise you have the option to read the license before purchasing a beat in the beat store.
When ordering a custom beat you are the only one getting a license for it which grants the same permissions as stated in my exclusive license.
Licenses and prices can also vary over time but you will stick to exactly that license permissions whenever you’ve purchased the license. That means your already bought license will not change its permission rights.
Yes, as long as you didn’t buy the beat’s exclusive license anyone else can also buy a license for the same beat and use it. Whenever the exclusive license is bought the beat will no longer be available for purchase but everyone who bought it before can continue to use it within their purchased non-exclusive license conditions.
When hiring me for a custom beat no one else but you will get a license for that beat.
Yes, you can upgrade your license as long as no one else bought the beat’s exclusive license. For upgrading your license please write me via mail. Of course you will just pay the difference from our already purchased license to the actual price of the license you want to get.
Yes, within your license permissions you’re allowed to upload your song with an ASCAPE beat to streaming platforms like Spotify, Tidal, etc. Please make sure to check the streaming limit of the license you’ve bought and don’t forget to credit me as producer for new recordings or as co-writer for new compositions.
Yes, within your license permission it’s allowed to perform your song live or broadcast it. For further information of what and how much is allowed please check the license you bought/will buy.
Yes, when you’ve recorded your song (using my beat) it is absolutely allowed to make profit with it. Please check the sales and streaming limits of the regarding license to get the information of how much you can do with it and don’t forget to credit me as producer for new recordings or as co-writer for new compositions when distributing your song.
When reaching the limit of a permission (e.g. audio streams on Spotify) you have to upgrade your license to use the license’s beat furthermore. Therefore just write me via mail. Of course you will just pay the difference from your already purchased license to the actual price of the license you want to get.
Yes, all of my beats meet legal requirements like using legal software and royalty free samples. That means you don’t have to worry to get any legal issues regarding the beat itself.
Yes, you have to credit me when distributing your song at your distributer and in all meta data, liner notes and any other similar options. Credit me as producer at new recordings (e.g. “Produced by ASCAPE”). When doing a new composition please credit me as co-writer (e.g. “Co-written by Julian Küchler”).
No, you’re not allowed to upload just the beat as it is to social media and audio platforms (like YouTube, Spotify, etc.). But of course it’s allowed to use the beat as background music for example your video stream or a video when you’re a content creator and don’t want to record a song.
In the mixing process your raw and recorded tracks get polished and fattened up. In this processing stage everything will be balanced in relation and glued together to bring your song to life. Effects, audio corrections and all the creativity of sound shaping also find their place when mixing.
In the process of mastering your mixed song takes the final step to evolve to a competitive audio product regarding loudness and tonal balance on the whole. Mastering can be differentiated into stereo mastering and stem mastering. Where stereo mastering just uses a single audio file (your stereo mix), stem mastering is using the mixed stems/trackouts (e.g. summarized rendered tracks like drums, vocals, 808, etc.). The advantage of stem mastering results in more flexibility when shaping the overall balance and loudness. I’m offering both of these mastering services.
The price of a mixing and/or mastering service mainly depends on the project’s size and effort. After you reached out to me we clarify your needs and get an overview of your project which results in an individual price. Of course you don’t have to pay anything before the service itself has started.
